Everyone knows Facebook – or at least knows that our wives and children are “on it” all the time. More and more men are connecting in this new way to friends and family.
But what about business? Can this social media tool be used as part of your marketing activities? In fact 69% of small business owners said they currently use social media (including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and blogs) at their companies.
I believe that the usage of Facebook as a marketing tool depends on who your target market is. If your typical client is a business, I do not think that Facebook is the appropriate tool to connect with your clients. On the other hand, if your target market is consumers… Facebook is the tool to consider!
Facebook for Business
Social media sites make it incredibly easy for you to reach your customers. You can instantly and ongoing gain access to your clients, share ideas, tips and new offerings. We helped Nimue Skin to set up and implement their social marketing strategy. Not only could they connect with their clients in a new and meaningful way, but the Nimue salons could also take advantage of the opportunity and advertise on the Nimue wall!

Facebook feedback
Your clients can easily give instant and honest feedback about your offerings and service. Want to know how your marketing or new product is being accepted by the market? – just ask for feedback and you will get it.
Facebook “Discipline”
In order to make your facebook page a success, you have to have the discipline to post new information on a regular basis. In fact, I would suggest you pay someone to do it! (Now that is a job from heaven!) Just give one of your employees that love to Facebook and understands how it work, the responsibility to update your Facebook page for a few minutes per day - the rest will happen on its own!
Convinced yet?
This short articleis only scraping the surface. Facebook presents a great opportunity for small businesses. How you will use it will vary from business to business. The best way to find out how is to jump in and try it out. So, what are you waiting for?
